What this page is about
This weekend I am traveling across the country to a state I’ve never been to. I’m meeting people I’ve never seen before. I’m going to the largest rock concert in the country. I’m going to Rock on the Range. For the last 8 or 9 years I’ve gone to as many concerts as I could. This is the biggest one yet.
I love music. Rock music. For the last 4 years or so I have been part of a site that has shown me more bands and variety than I ever imagined. 5 years ago my top 20 favorite bands were all on the radio. Today, only 2 or 3 have been in heavy rotation, 2 or 3 get some plays and 1 is finally getting play after 6 albums. This is where my attention to music has been drawn to. The other guys.
In my top 10 favorite albums this year, only 2 have songs on the radio. The first band is Janus. You may remember the song Eyesore but not the band. Currently Stains is doing pretty well on the radio and they are getting the attention they deserve. Next is Thousand Foot Krutch. After 5 studio albums and arguably being the biggest band in christian rock, they follow in the footsteps of Skillet out into the world of mainstream. They’ve tasted it before touring with a band called Three Days Grace. Now Let the Sparks Fly is being played all over the place and the band is even jumping on the Uproar Tour.
This is why I am doing this and why I hope you follow me. I want to bring those other 8 bands to you. Over the last few years it was nice to know about bands before they became popular. Saving Abel, New Medicine, Adelitas Way, Cavo, Aranda, The Veer Union and Framing Hanley. Not the biggest names in rock, but bands people know. These were just some of the bands I knew about. I want to help put the other bands who didn’t make it out there.
